Play 3 brings together artists from across Asia exploring new possibilities in contemporary expression through sound, visuals, and digital technologies.

From Japan, tamanaramen, known for their pop-infused experimental electronic music and dreamlike visual language, present DANCE IS BREATHING, an audiovisual performance for dancing, breathing, and bodies in constant transformation.

Making its Japan debut, Taiwan’s MOVING PLUS: The World as Prompt brings together new media art collective Dimension Plus, novelist Yi-Chin LO, and collage artist Raintree 1969. Moving across language, sound, image, AI, and other media, the work explores the idea of the “prompt” across multiple dimensions, pointing toward new possibilities for audiovisual expression emerging from Asia.

Also appearing is Eq, a joint session project by E.O.U and vq. E.O.U’s playful approach to live performance and DJing meets vq’s use of multiple smartphones as musical instruments, creating an organic and improvisational interplay of sound. They are joined by VJ JACKSON kaki, whose practice spans 3DCG, moving image, and performance while exploring the relationship between the body and technology, creating a performance in which sound and visuals respond to one another in real time.

From South Korea, five-member mixed-media collective Azikazin Magic World brings together music, visuals, animation, and games. The world of their debut album Memory Overdrive—fusing breakbeats, drum and bass, jungle, breakcore, UK garage, and more—is brought to the stage through Lionclad’s finger drumming and sampling, Moogia’s live vocals, and real-time visuals by Japanese creative duo tsuchifumazu.
