Since 2016, MUTEK.JP has established itself as a leading platform for electronic music and digital creativity in Tokyo, connecting artists, thinkers, and audiences from Japan and around the world. Over the years, the festival has grown into a vital meeting point for experimentation and cultural exchange, where technology, contemporary art, and new forms of audiovisual expression intersect.

Now entering its second decade, MUTEK.JP opens a new chapter with its 11th edition, taking place from November 20 to 23 at MoN Takanawa: The Museum of Narratives, a new cultural hub in Tokyo. Co-presented with East Japan Railway Company (JR East), this year's edition marks a new phase in the festival's evolution, bringing together more than 20 artists for four days of performances, encounters, and experiences that explore the evolving relationship between sound, image, and technology.

Built around the idea of a new cycle, the 2026 program spans internationally acclaimed artists and emerging voices, presenting groundbreaking audiovisual performances, electronic music, digital art, and new media works. Highlights include Max Cooper, Daito Manabe × ELEVENPLAY, Ryoichi Kurokawa, mouse on the keys, Patrick Watson, Hania Rani, Grand River, Robert Lippok & Lucas Gutierrez, and many more.

Beyond the performances, MUTEK.JP expands its programme through the MUTEK.JP Pro Conference and ETERNAL Art Space, creating further opportunities for exchange, discovery, and experimentation. The festival also welcomes a special collaboration with Richie Hawtin and Ali Demirel, whose new project, PLASTIKMAN | POLYPHONIC FERMENTATION, will receive its world premiere on November 23, alongside an accompanying installation at MoN Takanawa.

As MUTEK.JP begins this new cycle, it continues to explore how art and technology can open up new perspectives, challenge established boundaries, and expand the ways we experience creativity today and tomorrow.
