Sunday, November 23

The grand finale of MUTEK.JP Edition 10, bringing together a diverse lineup of performances that transcend genres and styles.

Held over three nights at Shibuya Spotify O-EAST, the Nocturne series showcases experimental and boundary-pushing acts in the first half of the night, followed by immersive rhythmic live audiovisual performances after midnight. From early evening until dawn, audiences will dive into a sensory experience with the particular MUTEK signature.

For this special closing event, get your tickets here and prepare to refresh your senses with:

Marie Davidson CA/QC

One of Montréal’s most acclaimed producers, Marie Davidson, arrives in Japan for the first time! Grammy-nominated and celebrated for her release on Soulwax’s DEEWEE label, she moves fluidly between ambient, techno, synth-pop, and spoken word. With past releases on Ninja Tune and DFA Records, her genre-defying sound crafts a world both complex and human — dark yet playful, intellectual yet deeply emotional.

Open Reel Ensemble JP

Led by Ei Wada, together with Haruka Yoshida and Masaru Yoshida, the trio transforms vintage reel-to-reel tape recorders into powerful instruments, reimagining them as “magnetic folk” tools for the future. With releases on Ryuichi Sakamoto's label and music created for ISSEY MIYAKE's Paris Collection across four seasons, they blur the lines between music, art, and invention — their avant-garde performance is a perfect embodiment of MUTEK’s spirit of innovation. Not to be missed!

WaqWaq Kingdom JP

Comprised of Shigeru Ishihara (DJ Scotch Egg, former Seefeel member) aka Scotch Rolex, and Kiki Hitomi (featured on King Midas Sound), the tribal bass duo spent over a decade in the UK and are now based in Leipzig and Berlin. Their sound fuses traditional Japanese music, Jamaican dancehall, techno, and African polyrhythms, creating a vibrant, dynamic sonic palette that balances intensity with pop sensibility.

Guillaume Coutu Dumont & Line Katcho CA/QC — Les Empires

A powerful collaboration between Montreal's Guillaume Coutu Dumont and Line Katcho, local pioneers of electronic music and immersive audiovisuals respectively. "Les Empires" fuses Dumont’s synth-driven explorations of house, jazz, afrobeat and analog ambient with Katcho’s visuals, drawing on science fiction and mythology to depict cycles of power and decay. Hypnotic, dreamlike, unforgettable.

Satoshi Tomiie × Kuniyuki Takahashi × Manami Sakamoto JP — Isor 168

The final act features three MUTEK.JP regulars: Satoshi Tomiie, an ambassador of Japanese dance music scene experimenting with hardware, Kuniyuki Takahashi blending electronic and raw improvisation, and international VJ Manami Sakamoto crafting immersive 3D visuals and abstract textures. Together, they create a live audiovisual dialogue of rhythm, melody, and light in real time — an organic, powerful ritual to close the 10th anniversary festival.

kyoka × Aimi Kusakari JP — Ukabu Oto: superposition

A collaborative ambient live show uniting Kyoka — signed to Raster-Noton label and a frequent MUTEK performer worldwide — and Aimi Kusakari, bassist of Sakanaction. Exploring the concept of floating sound, they weave the deep frequencies of bass with delicate particles to form a multi-layered, weightless sonic space. Two distinct worlds resonating as one, transcending the boundaries of perception.
