The artist scuy (v0id) was born in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, in 1987. He received a master’s degree from the Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences (IAMAS) in 2013. In 2018, he founded the design collective v0id, composed of members from diverse backgrounds including architecture, photography, graphic design, and programming. The collective engages in cross-disciplinary practices spanning video production, installation art, interior design, and fashion design.
scuy’s practice fuses audio and visual elements, drawing inspiration from the environments and spaces that surround us. Within the SNS landscape, he has gained attention for #beatgraffiti, a mixed-media expression that extends graffiti from physical public spaces into the contemporary public sphere of social media.
In recent years, he has expanded his practice toward A/V (Audio/Visual) live performances and installation art, presenting works at festivals and events in Japan and internationally. In 2025, he collaborated with artist Max Cooper on a new project, further establishing his presence on the international stage.
