Opening MUTEK.JP 2026, A/Visions 1 features Max Cooper, one of the UK's leading electronic musicians. Holding a PhD in computational biology, Cooper has built a singular practice spanning music, science and art, earning worldwide acclaim. For this performance, he presents an immersive audiovisual live show combining the latest 3D visuals with spatial audio.
At its centre is his latest album, Feeling Is Structure, conceived alongside this very live show. Exploring the relationship between physical structure and emotion, the album is defined by music that is precise at the micro level yet speaks directly to the listener's emotions. The performance weaves together ever-evolving sonic architectures with visuals of striking scale.
