Based in Sapporo, Kuniyuki Takahashi is a musician whose work carries a distinctive vision that transcends geographical boundaries, earning high acclaim from producers and DJs worldwide.
He released "Precious Hall," a tribute to his hometown of Sapporo and its club scene, on Joe Claussell's [Natural Resource] label. His work has appeared on 4Hero's Dego's 2000Black compilation and includes a remix of Ananda Project's "Cascades of Colour." His single "Earth Beats" on Mule Musiq garnered overwhelming support from DJs globally.
Since his debut album "We are Together" in 2006, he has released numerous albums. His 2012 album "Feather World" marked new territory, featuring contributions from jazz pianist Itabashi Fumio—known for his unique voice in the jazz scene—and collaborator Henrik Schwarz. He has also collaborated with international artists including DJ Nature and Vakula, with a compilation of these collaborations released via sound of speed in 2017.
He participated in DJ EMMA's "ACID CITY" compilation, with his track "Acid Air" played by notable DJs including DJ Harvey and Gilles Peterson. In 2017, he released a new album through the Newwave Project, focusing on his roots in industrial music and new wave. In 2018, Music From Memory (Netherlands) released his archival works from the 1980s-early 1990s. In 2021, he released a remix of Itabashi Fumio's "WATARASE."
Recently, he has been actively performing live internationally—across Europe, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, and the USA—developing a distinctive style that fuses improvisation with dance music. He regularly collaborates with artists across genres including Tobias, Circle of Live, Satoshi Tomiie, Floating Points, Henrik Schwarz, and Mark de Clive-Lowe.
