No stranger to Montreal's Mutek Festival, performing many times over the last 20 years [as Villain Accelerate in 2003, Nouveau Palais (with Ango and Lunice) in 2012, and again in 2013 as Prison Garde (alongside Nils Frahm, Onra and Robert Hood for Boiler Room x Mutek)], Vaughn Robert Squire makes his 10-year return to Mutek as a DJ for the Tokyo 2023 edition of the festival.

Showcasing a wide array of international contemporary club sounds, cultivated over 30 years since he started djing and making records, you can expect the ear of someone many years into sampling records, throwing illegal parties, and being a staple DJ at many clubs and parties in Montreal, Toronto, Detroit & NY.

Rare, deep cuts cultivated from personal rips, but also carrying a grip of unreleased music from friends as well, he embodies the sensibilities and taste of a well-known underground hiphop producer with a track selection focused towards hardware-made, machine-soul music.

Expect to hear many of artist alias' (Sixtoo, Block Univers, 'OG Rob') in Tokyo's underground music circle, he is also a designer & builder of clubs and record bars, recently-relocated to Tokyo to open a design studio focused on the connection of sound, spirit and space.
