With her intricate blend of dark and ethereal sounds, Sakura Tsuruta continues to push the bounds of what it means to be an electronic music producer and DJ. Her unique style of intertwining dark rhythms with ethereal harmonies and voices takes people to a dystopian world, always keeping the crowd on its toes, longing for more. The Tokyo-based artist first released her single ‘Dystopia’, in November 2019 via Bardo Records based in Slovenia. The ambient electronica piece broke ground and made its way to the Top 100 Chart in the Electronica/Downtempo.

Since then, she has released another EP, ‘Made of Air’ which was released in June 2020. She continues to live up to her hype in the underground music scene in Tokyo, constantly challenging stylistic and creative boundaries. Sakura has performed audio visual sets alongside asagi (augmented reality designer) as well as collaborated with Manami Sakamoto (visual designer) for an outdoor audio-visual installation in the heart of Tokyo. She has also composed and collaborated with various brands such as Amazon Prime, ATTACHMENT, PERVERZE, THE NORTH FACE, providing a sonic identity to their new works. Her most recent project has been at Creative Media Institute (Yangon, Myanmar) where she teaches music production to support young talents develop their skills and creative voices.

Her global presence has reached the hearts of many, landing her a coveted spot as a resident curator on the Hong Kong Community Radio, as well as a featuring artist at Ableton’s performance video. Her desire to create and innovate her style has elevated her musical performance, truly making it an immersive sensory experience.

Myriam Boucher is a video and sound artist based in Montréal, Canada. Her sensitive and polymorphic work concerns the intimate dialogue between music, sound and image, through visual music, audiovisual performance, Vjing and immersive projects. Fascinated by the natural environment, she creates audiovisual compositions from the landscape and the relationship that human maintains with it. Her work, “evocative in its dynamism, brings its audience close to something akin to feeling multiple emotions all at once” (The Link). Boucher’s compositions range from works for orchestra, ensemble, collaborative and solo A/V performances.
