MISOLA is a Tokyo and Kamakura based digital artist and VJ. At the age of 15, during his third year of junior high school, he assisted NONOTAK on one of their installations—an experience that left a lasting impact. In high school, he began studying computer graphics and, upon graduation, started presenting works under the name by N. He went on to create video installations, architectural projections, and participate in exhibitions before arriving at his current practice.

In 2023, at 19, he officially launched his career as a VJ by performing at NITEMOVES at Kamakura, a city co-sponsored event by the Kamakura Museum of History and Culture × ASAL. There, he collaborated on the ambient live show of NITEMOVES, the solo project of Rory O’Connor—formerly the drummer for Com Truise and currently with Tycho.

MISOLA’s performances bring together creative coding, audiovisual expression, and interactive camera-based visuals to produce improvised imagery that responds to sound and space. By manipulating node parameters in real time, his visuals dynamically shift in response to atmosphere, audience energy, and sonic variations.

At the intersection of technology and art, he continues to explore the possibilities of live visual expression, channeling inner emotions and impulses into glitch-driven, prismatic imagery that merges natural and digital textures. His works resonate with audiences on a sensory level, delivering experiences that stir both perception and feeling.

His projects and performances have been presented at ZERO-SITE, Super Natural Deluxe, Renegade Hardware 30th Anniversary, SECTOR, Ableton Meetup Tokyo, Granhammer Rainbow Star, Débris, Clubasia, Circus Tokyo, Ochiai Soup, R Lounge, Shibuya Oiran, Atama Bar, MEIMEI, and many more venues and events across diverse scenes.
