Opening: Avid curiosity and creativity

This session will introduce the process behind the development of practical creativity in Japan, drawing on the trajectory of MUTEK.JP, which has expanded numerous boundaries in Japan and overseas with digital creativity at its core in the seven years since arrival in Japan. Together with MUTEK.JP General Director Shuichiro Iwanami and MUTEK.JP Creative Director Junichi Takekawa, with moderation provided by Mariko Nishimura, a producer who has initiated projects with domestic and international companies, academia and government, the panel will take a look at several locations with multiple existing realities, making reference to recent cases from Japan and around the world. The session will further discuss suggestions and possibilities for the advancement of future digital creation aimed at the development of creativity and international exchange, under a variety of viewpoints.
