TashaUK
Tasha first made her mark as a DJ in the drum & bass community, with her mixes being aired by DJ Flight on BBC 1Xtra. She quickly became a staple in the scene, gaining a residency at Storm’s Feline night and performing regularly at Renegade Hardware events across Europe. A passionate enthusiast at heart, her deep involvement in London’s techno scene, including working at BM Soho and attending iconic raves, began to influence her sound. These techno influences soon found their way into her DJ sets and radio shows, particularly during her residency on Rinse FM, which began in 2009 and continues today. Radio has remained a cornerstone of Tasha’s career, allowing her to share her love for electronic music over the years.
Tasha’s DJing style reflects the diverse influences that have shaped her musical journey, blending UK bass with techno traditions from Detroit and Berlin. Known for her seamless mixing and atmospheric control of the dancefloor, her sound is both dynamic and emotionally resonant. She has played at some of the world’s most renowned festivals and clubs, including Berghain, Tresor, Glastonbury, fabric, and Corsica Studios, while also performing internationally in cities like London and Sydney.
She also made a name for herself as a promoter, starting in 2007 with co-promoted parties at the iconic Plastic People in East London. Her first venture, Medium, was a genre-defying event she launched with Sigha and others, pushing multi-genre lineups at a time when such programming was rare. In 2010, she launched her own concept, ‘Neighbourhood,’ where she curated events without compromise, booking artists she deeply believed in, such as Pangaea, Pariah, and Ben Sims. Neighbourhood has since hosted events at key venues, including the Pickle Factory and Corsica Studios, and collaborated with the likes of Metalheadz and Field Maneuvers festival. Today, FOLD is the home of Neighbourhood, where Tasha’s events continue to leave a lasting impression on both artists and audiences.
In 2016, Tasha expanded Neighbourhood into a record label, featuring artists such as Randomer, Cadans, and Forest Drive West. In recent years, she has also begun sharing her own music, including a track on Ben Sims’ ‘Tribology’ compilation.
In an industry often focused on social media presence and surface-level success, Tasha stands out with her music-first approach. Her dedication to her craft as a DJ, producer, promoter, and label owner ensures a bright future in the electronic music scene.
