" Sinjin Hawke and Zora Jones' interactive online portal—and not entirely offline performance entity—Fractal Fantasy—feels like a futuristic imagining of fully integrated human-machine music and visuals, a place where flesh and code harmoniously meet.

Hawke and Jones began their audiovisual experiments as research-based project Fractal Fantasy in 2013, launching as a series of interactive videos set to music. The Fractal Fantasy platform has also become an audiovisual label, releasing several EPs and compilations—one featuring producer-singer Xzavier Stone’s album Thirst with a 360-degree video panorama of Stone’s head, soaked in computer animated liquid. The duo's debut, Vicious Circles, seamlessly fuses a chorus of human voices with distinctly manipulative digital processing, set in a pulsing array of ambient synth textures and massive club beats—the EP's integrated artwork, a blue-hued video image of someone or something's glistened skin, vibrates in unison. Known previously for his solo live hardware performances, Hawke has collaborated with footwork pioneer DJ Rashad, hip hop producer Just Blaze and ballroom-vogue-house forerunner MikeQ, and has produced in his recognizable style of choral manipulation and orchestral arrangement for Kanye West (namely on Wolves), and Frank Ocean. Hawke recently released his EP First Opus, and has populated the Fractal Fantasy co-label Visceral Vaults with his bass music. Jones’ solo EP, 100 Ladies, showcased her visionary and expressive compositional take on footwork and grime. She's also released her own hip hop bootlegs and collaborations with footwork and global bass producers Jlin, Murlo and DJ Taye, synth-focused house producer Heavee and rapper La Zowi, as well as inventive club production on tracks for MCs Sasha Go Hard and E-40.

Hawke and Jones have already taken their live Fractal Fantasy A/V project around the globe, including at Barcelona's Sónar and Poland's Unsound festival in 2018, where their motion capture techniques translated movement to sound and vision, pushing the boundaries of the club environment and what a live dance experience can be. Following performances this year at Rewire and Sónar Reykjavik, some featuring their patented visual theremin, Sinjin Hawke and Zora Jones warp the edges of reality with their audiovisual interactions at MUTEK."
