BubblyfishUS

[CANADIAN DEBUT] Experimental IDM producer Bubblyfish (aka Haeyoung Kim) uses the 8-bit technology of early Game Boys as her sound sources, which she then filters and manipulates through her laptop for live performances. A classically trained pianist hailing for South Korea and currently based in New York, Kim is interested in exploring not only the identity of sounds but also their cultural representations. Her debut album is a CD-R release called Peripheral that appeared in 2006 on the Retinascan imprint. In 2007, the Bubblyfish track It's More Fun to Compute will appear on the Astralwerks-inaugurated Kraftwerk tribute album 8-Bit Operators.
