Joseph Cutts (he/him) is an artist working in video and sound installation, based at S1 Artspace in Sheffield since 2010. His works are constructed using custom systems, where instruction is interlaced with volatile attempt(s), as choreography meets interruption, fault or unscripted behaviour. In his narratives, Cutts’ work draws towards an obsession in everyday substances and technology, documenting their complex properties from a heritage, manufacturing, process driven and economical viewpoint. His recent work Configure Crude Complexities (2019) exhibited in Construction House alongside original Bauhaus masters László Moholy-Nagy and Marianne Brandt to mark the Bauhaus centenary.
